LETS are Local Exchange Trading Schemes - mutual support networks in which people trade goods and services using community credits, either "hours" or a named currency in parallel to sterling. In London we have a number of independent local groups, as well as a city-wide network, which enables groups to connect with each other and to find new members. We are still in the early stages of exploring the potential of new online systems, and this is an opportunity to share organisational and technical knowledge, and meet up with other LETS enthusiasts to form new alliances. DRAFT PROGRAMME The above agenda is flexible and subject to change according to presentations
offered. Membership of London-wide LETS is by exchange - please bring
cheques/cash. Also bring craft items to sell, and leaflets about activities
you offer on the scheme, or about your local group. Stallholders are
invited to share income by negotiation with the organisers. |

This will enable us to contact all those who
wanted to join London-wide LETS, but whom we could not accommodate,
because we were not yet able to run it as
a web-based system. Now that we have the technology, we are confident we can develop a
really effective scheme.
Pictured here is Robert from Love London,
posing with Mary, who is pleased that the importance of our project has
been acknowledged not only by the London Sustainability Trust but
by the director, Joseph Tenzin Oliver, of a young, entrepreneurial company, Bash Creations, who donated
and presented the award. At the
event, we will invite everyone to meet up, see how it works,
and open an account.
